My Tea Garden

Yes, I have a Tea Garden. I grow, harvest and dry the leaves and flowers to make wonderful teas. Each herb provides medicinal benefits. Harvesting is fun when my granddaughters help.

Today I'll share my favourite blend of Herbal Tea. It is a combination of Chamomile, Calendula and Mint. It is lightly aromatic and is so smooth to drink. And extremely great medicinal benefits.


Chamomile: I harvest the flower only. I place them in a paper bag. Every day I shake the bag to loosen any clumping and encourage drying. It takes up to 3-4 weeks. Once dry, I place the flowers in a plastic air-tight bag for fresh keeping.

Calendula: I harvest the petals from the flower only. I shake loose any clinging soil, then place it in a paper bag. Every day I shake the bag to loosen any clumping and encourage drying. It takes up to 3-4 weeks. Once dry, I place the leaves in a plastic air-tight bag for fresh keeping.

Mint: I harvest the leaf. I gently clean with water, pat dry with a paper towel then place in a paper bag. Every day I shake the bag to loosen any clumping and encourage drying. It takes up to 3-4 weeks. Once dry, I place the leaves in a plastic air-tight bag for fresh keeping.

These are the photos I have taken during the summer of 2020. That is my granddaughter Bri that you see in the first photo. I have recently bought a new home. This summer 2022 will be sharing the construction of my NEW Tea Garden.
